Previous research has demonstrated significant relationships between peri-shock pause and survival to discharge from out-of-hospital shockable cardiac arrest (OHCA). This study aimed to determine the impact of peri-shock pause on survival from OHCA during the ROC PRIMED randomized controlled trial.
On July 24th 2010 a BBC camera crew arrived at Yorkshire Air Ambulance HQ to film the team as part of the Helicopter Heroes series. Shortly before 7am, emergency medical dispatcher, Chris Solomons, arrived at work feeling unwell. Chris’s colleagues assessed him and it quickly became apparent he was suffering from a massive heart attack.
